「水庭（すいてい）」は、自然から日本人の美意識の表現を探る試みから生まれた作品である。
この作品は日本の石庭の起源を探求し、石や砂を用いて自然景観を抽象的に再現している。
観察者に内省と心の平穏をもたらす設計は、不規則な自然の美を反映しつつ、精緻に計算された配置で心の静寂を引き出すことを意図している。
撮影地は、日本の神話や自然への信仰が感じられる場所で、海や湖の景色を巡りながら石庭を連想させる風景が捉えられている。
これらの景色と対峙し、バランスの取れた美しい光景を切り取っている。
“Water Garden – Hazama” is a work born from the exploration of how the Japanese aesthetic is expressed through nature. This piece delves into the origins of Japanese rock gardens, using stones and sand to abstractly recreate natural landscapes. The design, which brings introspection and tranquility to viewers, reflects the irregular beauty of nature while its meticulously calculated arrangements aim to evoke a sense of inner peace.
The filming locations, chosen for their connections to Japanese mythology and reverence for nature, capture landscapes that evoke thoughts of rock gardens while touring scenes of seas and lakes. These landscapes are confronted and beautifully balanced vistas are captured.
間 – はざま / Hazama
本シリーズのサブタイトル「間」は、日没直後の黄昏時を指す。この時期は日常と非日常の境界であり、「間」としての時間帯に日本人の美意識が反映されている。この一瞬の移行期が観察者に瞑想的で内省的な体験を提供する。
The subtitle “Hazama” refers to the twilight just after sunset, a time that marks the boundary between the ordinary and the extraordinary, a period “in-between” when the Japanese aesthetic is reflected. This fleeting transitional phase provides viewers with a meditative and introspective experience.
